First shoot in the new studio
My first client in the new studio was Kahala Marr. After seeing my work on Instagram and Facebook, she liked the JLP fashion and beauty portraits. So, she reached out to book a portfolio photoshoot. When she first arrived, I saw a quiet, petite, young mother of three. She immediately started chatting about her Native American roots, family and a typical day with a full house. (She was sneaking this photoshoot in a small window between dropping kids off and picking them up).
After chatting briefly, it was time to start hair and makeup. Kahala does makeup, so she brought her own gear and took care of it all. (Normally, I prefer to team up with my own group of talented hair and makeup artists, but ...have you seen Kahala's work!?)
Watching this sweet mother of three transform into the fierce, strong, beautiful woman you see below is what I love most about what we do. Her look, walk, posture, and attitude evolved.
These portraits represent the Kahala I got to know well. I'm so happy she decided to book a shoot in the new studio.

...and an obligatory iPhone selfie.
(Sorry about the poor quality... it's the only one we took.)
